NCURA Statement on Diversity and Inclusion

The National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) recognizes, values, and celebrates diversity of persons, skills, and experiences in its mission to advance the field of research administration. Thus, NCURA is committed to building and maintaining a diverse membership and a culture of inclusion. Every member of NCURA has a right, without regard to gender, race, ethnicity, age, religion, social class, sexual orientation, personality, functional experience, or background, to fair and respectful treatment, equal access to resources to support professional growth, and equitable opportunities to contribute to NCURA's success.

Chair-Elect

In this exciting position, the Chair-Elect serves as the executive officer of Region IV and assists the Chair in regional affairs, represents Region IV at meetings, functions, and various other activities, and coordinates and manages the budget for the Region’s Spring Meeting. The Chair-Elect also has the opportunity to hone their public speaking skills in meetings of large and small sizes. It is preferred that the Chair-Elect brings extensive prior knowledge of the Region and National and has five years of experience in the field of research administration.

Secretary

The Secretary is the Region’s contemporary historian, keeping records for business meetings and other engagements, and has the utmost important position—along with the Chair—of representing Region IV’s membership, whether this is through Regional or National meetings, the Spring Meeting, or other activities. This position also has opportunities to present at regional meetings and build upon their experience in research administration!

At-Large Member of the Board

At-Large Members from Region IV have exciting opportunities to assist in a variety of regional functions, including communicating with regional membership, coordinating meetings or activities for new members at National and Regional engagements, and assisting with other functions the Chair and Board see as beneficial for the Region. At-Large Members come from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels in research administration and are encouraged to share their unique skills and experience in specialized areas.
