Board Member, David Schmidt
David Schmidt is the Assistant Vice President for Research and Economic Development at the University of North Dakota, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Research Administrator (CRA). His responsibilities include Grant & Contracts Administration which is a cradle to grave office providing preaward through close out administration.
David started his career in Research Administration at the University of North Dakota in 1983. During this time he has worked exclusively in central administration. Some of the areas he has been involved with are preparing and submitting two Indirect Cost Proposals, developing the methodology and the policies and procedures for recharge centers and assisting with the writing and submittal of the University’s Cost Accounting Standards Disclosure Statement (DS-2). He was the functional lead for the Grants Implementation of PeopleSoft for the North Dakota University System. Currently he is leading a group that is reviewing, writing and creating research policies and procedures.
