Pamela Vargas receives 2006 Distinguished Service Award Pamela Vargas, Director Sponsored Programs, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at the Air Force Institute of Technology has been named as NCURA Region IV’s recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Pamela joins the ranks of research administrators that have received this prestigious award in honor of outstanding contributions to the field of research administration and through service to the NCURA organization. Pamela’s professional experiences have included her current position with the Air Force Institute of Technology and five positions at The Graduate School, Office of Research, University of Notre Dame. Those positions included Director, Electronic Research Administration and Professional Specialist, Associate Director and Associate Professional Specialist, Assistant Director and Associate Professional Specialist, Assistant Director and Assistant Professional Specialist, and Assistant Director. Her research administration experience has spanned over fifteen years. NCURA has also reaped the benefits of her knowledge, dedication and energy. Pamela is the Past Chair of Region IV and has served as regional Nominations Committee Chair, Awards and Publications committees member, and NCURA national Professional Development Committee member. Pamela has also been a presenter and discussion leader at numerous regional and national NCURA meetings. In addition she has numerous publications on the topic of research administration.
