DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
Eligibility Criteria: The following criteria
will be used in considering individuals for this award.
Individuals who have:
·
a minimum of five years
membership in NCURA.
·
served in an elected
position in either Region IV or at the national level or served
as a Committee Chair at the national level
·
made presentations at
regional or national NCURA meetings.
Individuals may have additionally:
·
published articles in the
field of research administration,
·
presented workshops for
institutions on some aspect of the field,
or
·
provided consultation for
institutions (or some other appropriate activity).
The
nomination must be received in writing with the endorsement of
two (2) Region IV NCURA members, including one (1) who is
external to the institution.
KEVIN REED OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL AWARD
Eligibility Criteria: The
following criteria will be used in considering individuals for
this award; self-nominations are encouraged. Individuals who:
1. have no more than
five (5) years' experience in the research administration field.
2. are a current or
past member or Region IV NCURA
3. have been
involved with our professional association through service in a
regional or national NCURA Committee.
4. have participated
in an annual meeting as a presenter, panelist or moderator at
either the regional or national level.
Nominees should evidence a
quick willingness to offer their abilities, time, commitment and
enthusiasm to Region IV.
The nomination must be in
writing with the endorsement of two (2) Region IV members,
including one (1) who is external to the institution of the
nominee.
MERITORIOUS CONTRIBUTION AWARD
Eligibility Criteria: The following criteria will be
considered; self-nominations are encouraged. Group efforts as
well as individual efforts are eligible for this award.
1.
The nominee(s) for this award must have developed and
implemented an innovative program which:
a.
significantly enhanced the research atmosphere on a campus.
b.
is
endorsed by at least two (2) letters of recommendation from
faculty members on the campus.
2.
The individual or group who developed the program must be
willing to make a presentation at a regional meeting describing
the program, which must be innovative and have a significant
impact on the campus research environment.
3.
The nomination must be received in writing with the endorsement
of two (2) Region IV members. (An individual may be nominated
by a Vice President for Research, or comparable official, from
the nominee's institution.)
NCURA REGION IV TRAVEL AWARD
Awardees will receive up to
$1,000 toward expenses associated with attending the Regional
Spring Meeting. Payment will be issued to the Awardee's
institution on a cost-reimbursable basis.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must be
research administrators from the Region IV geographical
area.
- Nominees should be new
to research administration and have been in his/her position
less than three years.
- Nominees must have
never attended an NCURA Regional meeting.
- Nominees are not
required to be members of NCURA at the time of the
nomination.
- Nominees must provide a
written statement on how the Award will benefit the Nominee
and the Institution (At least one letter of support from the
home institution MUST BE included).
- Self nominations will
be accepted.
- Awards will be based on
financial need and professional benefit to the applicant,
and will be determined by the Region IV Awards Committee.
- A copy of the
recipient's institutionally approved travel expense report
and list of itemized expenses must be received by the Region
IV Treasurer, within 30 days of the end of the meeting. Upon
receipt of the travel report, a check will be issued to the
Awardee's institution. Recipients are advised to make
arrangements in advance with their institution to cover
travel expenses until reimbursement by NCURA is received.
NCURA REGION IV SPECIAL MERIT AND DISTINCTION AWARD
The Special Merit &
Distinction Award recognizes individuals on an occasional,
as-needed basis whose contribution to NCURA Region IV has gone
above and beyond "business as usual", inclusive of unique and
invaluable contribution to the vitality and enduring legacy of
the organization.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must
demonstrate unique and invaluable contribution to the
vitality and enduring legacy of Region IV.
- Nominees must be a
current or previous member of NCURA Region IV.
- Self nominations will
be accepted.
The nomination must be received in writing
with the endorsement of two (2) Region IV members.
